Nicola Tyson and Angela Lyras founded Trial BALLOON, the woman-only project space in the early 90s run out of Tyson’s studio loft in Soho. The program included Nicole Eisenman, Lutz Bacher, Ellen Cantor, GB Jones, DW Fitzpatrick, Sarah Rapson, Siobhan Liddell, Josephine Pryde, Sarah Staton, Kirsi Mikkola, Amy Sillman, KK Kozik, Marilla Palmer, Patricia Cronin, Shelley Marlow, Amanda Trager, Laura Parnes and writers Laurie Weeks and Dodie Bellamy among many others.
